Miriam “Ria” MathewTCM Equity Fellow

Ria Mathew is a third-year student at UC Davis studying Psychology and Philosophy. She has worked with kids, starting with a financial literacy nonprofit called FLY, and has continued direct service work. Her research experience spans teen psychophysiology at UC Davis’s SES Lab and behavioral research with the University of Antigua. She is currently developing a media literacy curriculum for elementary-age students. Ria is interested in how systems shape human behavior, and how that behavior shape systems back. In addition, she is interested in how policy shapes child development and is thrilled to learn about early childhood policy and children’s advocacy this summer.

When Ria is not in class or working she enjoys engaging with and learning about California’s diverse cultures and climates.
