Children Now Statement on Gov. Newsom’s Inaugural Address

OAKLAND, CA— Children Now President Ted Lempert issued the following statement today in response to Governor Newsom’s inaugural address:

“Children Now agrees with Governor Newsom that all California kids should have a good life, and be loved, fed and safe. For far too long, children have received short shrift in state policy making. Ensuring that children have the support and services they need to grow up safe, healthy, and well-educated is the right course of action for our state’s economic, democratic, and civic futures. We share the Governor’s cradle-to-career vision and look forward to working with the Administration to advance Pro-Kid policies in 2019 and beyond.”
