Miya YamamotoTCM Equity Fellow

Miya is a second-year undergraduate student at UCLA pursuing double majors in Political Science and Public Affairs. She serves as a Research, Communications, and Operations Assistant at the UCLA Pritzker Center for Strengthening Children and Families, where she supports the HOPE Court Study, helps coordinate events, and community outreach. Miya is also involved with the UCLA Undergraduate Students Association Council, advocating for students and helping plan campus-wide programs and events. Beyond her academic work, Miya works closely with children as a swim coach and mentor, teaching water safety and supporting elementary school students with science projects.

Miya hopes to pursue a career supporting children and families through law and public policy. This summer as an Equity Fellow at Children Now, she is excited to learn from advocates across California and gain firsthand experience in how policy can drive change for children and families.
