Kalena is a rising senior at the University of California, Santa Cruz, double majoring in Psychology and Legal Studies. Through her extensive experiences at different nonprofit organizations, she has learned the importance of advocating for children and providing meaningful support for children’s safety and empowerment. Kalena has worked to support children in both the Bay Area, where I am from, and in Santa Cruz County. She looks forward to learning as much as possible during her time at Children Now as a Children’s Movement Equity Fellow. 

Outside of class Kalena enjoys the abundant nature that Santa Cruz has to offer. She enjoys walks through the native redwood forests and spending time at the beach. In addition, Kalena appreciates living in a diverse area and state!
