Gina is a mother of four children, including a son with a physical disability and her youngest son, who was born with Down Syndrome. Gina has over 35 years of leadership experience. She spent 25 years teaching and directing inclusive preschool and afterschool programs. However, her personal experience and journey as a parent inspired her to change careers and take a position at the Alpha Resource Center of Santa Barbara, which provides lifespan support for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and their families/caregivers. She is currently the Director of Programs.
Throughout her career, Gina has participated in local and statewide boards and committees to ensure that the voices of individuals and families are heard and that their needs are addressed. She serves on the CenCal/CCS Whole Child Model Family Advisory Committee, the Family Resource Center Network of California Steering Committee, the California Children’s Services Advisory Group, and is a Family Voices of California Council Member. Additionally, she is a facilitator for the Arc of California’s Caring Futures program.
