Ongoing Funding Sources for Children & Youth Behavioral Health Services & Supports

Since 2020, a growing number of new programs have been launched in California to address children’s behavioral health, reflecting an increased statewide commitment to respond to gaps in mental health care, early intervention, and family support. However, without strong implementation and oversight, the programs are at risk of failing to achieve their stated outcomes.

This document is intended to describe the details of the major youth behavioral health initiatives of the State of California and reflect only those programs that have either long-term or an ongoing funding source.
