Children Now Statement on the 2022-23 Joint Legislative Budget Agreement

OAKLAND, CA— Ted Lempert, President, Children Now, issued the following statement in response to the 2022-23 joint Legislative budget agreement:

We applaud the Legislature for including a number of key investments across the early childhood, TK-12, higher ed, kids’ health and child welfare domains in their joint budget passed on Monday. As the Administration and Legislature negotiate the final details, we urge them to truly prioritize kids and ensure enhanced investments, including raising rates for early learning and child care providers.
