Children Now President Ted Lempert’s Statement on the 2026-27 State Budget May Revision
“We commend the Governor’s continued prioritization of kids in today’s May Revise budget proposal, including funding what schools are owed this year under Prop 98. After decades of California falling behind other states in kids’ well-being, the Governor and Legislature need to continue prioritizing investments in kids in the state budget, as well as ensuring essential education governance reform is adopted this year.”
