Children Now President Ted Lempert’s Statement on President Trump’s Executive Order Dismantling the Department of Education

“Eliminating the Department of Education is the wrong thing to do for kids. The Department does so much critical work for kids in California, including supporting special education programs and enforcing civil rights. Even if some pieces could be put into other departments, kids and education need to be our priority, and dismantling the entire Department of Education makes no sense.”
