California Student Leaders Will Unite for October 2023 Summit

Oakland, CA – The 2023 Summit for Student Leaders will take place on October 6th and 7th.

Children Now is hosting The Summit, in partnership with student-led groups and student-facing organizations, including GENup, Our Turn, Ed100, The Institute for Youth in Policy, California Association of Student Councils (CASC), and California Forward. The Summit is an evolution of Ed100’s Academy for Student Leaders, which was held the last several years

The Summit will support the development and engagement of California’s student leaders in the state policymaking process. The program will include various sessions on key policy issues and government relations work in Sacramento, as well as creating effective coalitions and connections that move forward statewide policy. The program will also provide student leaders time to foster relationships and connections with each other that contribute to power building efforts as advocates.

“We are thrilled to host this year’s event in partnership with leading California student organizations,”. said Ted Lempert, President of Children Now.  “Students are not just tomorrow’s leaders; they are today’s leaders, and their voice must play a primary role in shaping education policy”.

Students from throughout California are encouraged to sign up for the free summit.  For more information, check out our event webpage here.
