511 Pro-Kid Organizations Urge Policymakers to Ensure Medi-Cal Provides CA Children the Health Care Services They Need

This week, 511 Pro-Kid organizations signed on to this letter urging the California Department of Health Care Services to hold Medi-Cal managed care plans accountable for providing children the health care services they need and deserve.

The State is currently in the process of revising contracts with Medi-Cal plans that oversee the health of more than five million children in California. Unfortunately, the proposed language does not ensure that the plans will deliver better health care for kids. Instead, it would lock in low performance expectations and pay plans even when kids cannot get their most basic health care needs met.

Together we can ensure that policymakers truly hold Medi-Cal plans accountable and California kids receive the health care services to which they are entitled.
