Mavi HodoglugilEquity Fellow, The Children's Movement

Mavi is a second-year student at UC Berkeley majoring in sociology with a minor in public policy. After graduation, she plans to pursue law school and practice public interest law. Mavi is especially passionate about youth juvenile justice, especially how and when different groups of children interact with law enforcement and what that means for the trajectories of their lives.

Mavi is dedicated to social justice and making a difference in her community. She has prior experience volunteering with the ACLU on immigrants’ rights and privacy. Mavi has also worked with local organizations like Berkeley Food Network to help fight food insecurity in Berkeley.

Through the Equity Fellowship, Mavi hopes to learn how ideas and intentions are turned into policy though the power of a movement.
