Laura MauleResearch Fellow
    Laura is a senior at UC Berkeley, graduating with a B.A. in molecular and cell biology this coming December. She intends to go on to medical school, where she hopes to be a pediatrician. She volunteers at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in the Down Syndrome clinic, where she works with patients, families, volunteers and physicians to build an inclusive community for families children with developmental differences, and ensure that patients are families receive all the resources available to them. She also conducts research in a laboratory to improve our understanding of the immune system’s role in cancer. In the past, she has completed research on the implementation of new HIV treatment and prevention practices at UCSF and novel non-surgical approaches to treating endometriosis at Stanford.
