Khanh Phu (she/her) is a graduate student at the UCLA Master of Social Welfare program, with a concentration in Social and Economic Justice. She graduated from UC Davis in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and took a gap year with City Year Americorps as an Academic Support Coach at a middle school in East Side San Jose. She is a first-generation immigrant from Vietnam, grew up in San Jose, and currently resides in Los Angeles. She is an aspiring social worker aiming to take on a macro-level role to transform child welfare policy, especially for Southeast Asian and immigrant youth. She looks forward to learning more about policy work and research from the other fellows and staff in The Children’s Movement.
