Allie is a junior (class of 2024) at Northwestern University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social policy within the School of Education and Social Policy. She also has completed a Certificate in Civic Engagement and is working towards an Asian American studies minor. On campus, she is involved with organizations that provide extracurricular activities and mentoring to local Evanston and Chicago public schools. She is interested in exploring how on the ground community organizing work can intersect with large-scale policy change, especially with regards to education.
Last summer, Allie worked as a teaching assistant for a class of rising kindergarteners as part of the San Mateo County Big Lift program. Previously, she spent two years volunteering with Peninsula Bridge as a mentor to middle school students in San Mateo, in their summer and after-school programming.
