Children Now’s Volunteer Research position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in learning more about research and policy analysis in health, education, and children’s media environment. Reporting to the Director of Research, the Research Volunteer will work 15-20 hours per week on Children Now’s key research products including:
Tasks may include: literature reviews; compiling and configuring data from secondary sources such as California Department of Education, American Community Survey, and California Health Interview Survey; error checking data; compiling notes and sources; preparing mailing and media packets; assisting with research briefings and presentations.
The Research Volunteer will work closely with staff, but will manage his/her projects independently, exercising good judgment, problem-solving skills, and superlative time management. Successful volunteers have some work experience, are interested in policies and programs affecting children, and are resourceful, efficient, and reliable.
