Nancy Murray

Board Secretary

Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP, Partner (Retired)

The daughter of an Air Force pilot, Nancy has lived throughout the United States and spent four years in Japan.  Upon her father’s retirement from the Air Force, Nancy moved to Texas where she earned her B.S. in 1977 from the University of Texas at Austin, and her law degree in 1980 from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she was Managing Editor of the Law Review. Nancy moved to San Francisco to work as an associate with Pillsbury Madison and Sutro (now known as Pillsbury, Winthrop), and was named a partner in 1987.  After the birth of her third child, Nancy resigned as a partner in 1991, and became Of Counsel for a number of years. She has been active as a mediator with the American Arbitration Association, and has served as a Judge Pro Tem on a number of Superior Court cases.

Nancy has served on a number of non-profit boards, including the boards of San Francisco University High School, The Hamlin School, Town School for Boys, and Lone Mountain Children’s Center.  She has chaired Annual Fund campaigns for Town and Hamlin, and launched the first ever capital campaign at Lone Mountain, her children’s pre-school.  Nancy is an active supporter of Summerbridge San Francisco, a tuition-free, academic enrichment program for middle school students with limited resources.  In addition to serving on the Children Now board, she is on the board of Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.

Nancy and her husband, Jim Feuille (Partner, Crosslink Capital) are the proud (but exhausted) parents of four children, Colin (UHS ’05; Brown Univ. ’09; Mt. Sinai Medical School ‘14), Connor (UHS ’08; Colgate Univ. ’12; Stanford Law School ‘16), Catherine (UHS ’10; Dartmouth College ‘15), and Claire (Hamlin ’10, UHS ‘14).

In her free time, Ms. Murray enjoys a good book, an even better glass of wine, and spending time with her family. Lastly, Ms. Murray is proud to say that she is one paragraph into writing her great American novel.
