Children in the United States have a high media IQ—and they are deeply affected by how and where the news is presented. Indeed, a significant number of children say the news media makes them feel sad, angry or depressed. This survey shows that children across the board are interested in change from the news media—they want to see more on Boston and Birmingham, than Bosnia. Children will be a captive audience for news about their own world.
